Trajectory Control Method Based on a Model Predictive Control Scheme for Totem-Pole PFC Converters Operating at DCM

摘要

The increasing requirement for transient performance necessitates the use of nonlinear fast dynamic controllers for single-phase power factor correction (PFC) converters. In order to reduce the DC-link capacitance, a substantial doubleline frequency voltage ripple on the output voltage of the PFC converter should be allowed. This paper presents a trajectory control method based on a model predictive control scheme for bridge-less totem-pole PFC converters with a fast dynamic response and large voltage ripple at the double-line frequency. A new switching surface for the trajectory control is proposed for the PFC converter operating at discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), which is implemented based on a model predictive control scheme. The proposed control method has been verified by simulations and the experimental results.
