Toward the Development of a 3D SBP-SAT FDTD Method: Subgridding and Practical Applications

摘要

A three-dimensional subgridding method incorporated the summation-by-parts simultaneous approximation term (SBP-SAT) finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is proposed to handle complex structure. The proposed subgridding method is the theoretically long-time stable, and can significantly improve the computational efficiency. A human head illuminated by a mobile phone is used to validate its accuracy and efficiency. Results show that the proposed 3D SBP-SAT FDTD method is accurate and efficient to model complex structures.
