abstract = "In recent years, there are some location-based routing protocols were proposed. However, most of these protocols resort to flooding when {"}void{"} area appears in networks. Obviously, this will results in the increase of routing overhead. In this paper, a new location-based routing protocol (TLRP) is proposed. TLRP uses a tree-shape approach to make the decision of route request packet forwarding. It can make the route request packets bypass the {"}void{"} area subtly and can also reduce the request packets in common scenarios. A link forecasting approach based on more detailed location information is also implemented in the route maintenance phase. Simulation results show that, compared with some other classic location-based protocols, TLRP can improve packet delivery ratio and decrease delay with less routing overhead.",
