abstract = "Computer Generated Force (CGF) is a key component of distributed virtual combat environment. It is shown that as more complex requirements are added to the simulation, CGF simulations based upon current software architectures has shown increasingly apparent limitations, the development of a reusable and extensible architecture turn into a key research technique of CGF system. AST\_CGF, a CGF system builds by Aviation Science and Technology key laboratory of BUAA, is designed to achieve a reusable CGF system. This paper will provide an overview of AST\_CGF and a brief description of the functions of AST\_CGF system, the components and key technologies of CGF system will be discussed in this paper. Key technologies include entity modeling, human behaviors modeling, and knowledge representation. Reusable and extensible are the principals during the design. The paper concludes with our recommendations for further work on CGF.",
