Terahertz On-Chip Unit and Array Antenna Based on Glass Substrate

摘要

This paper presents the design of on-chip unit and array antennas operating in the terahertz (THz) band on a glass substrate. By modifying the position of the substrate-integrated waveguide (SIW) perforations, the operating frequency band of the antennas is adjusted. The study focuses on the development of THz on-chip antennas based on a glass substrate, designed to operate at two distinct frequency bands, and configured into an 8-element array. All antennas employ a coplanar waveguide feeding mechanism. The unit antennas operate at frequencies of 200 GHz and 270 GHz, with relative bandwidths of 11% and 3.3%, respectively, and achieve maximum gains of -0.3 dB and 4.5 dB at their respective operating frequencies. The assembled array antenna operates at frequencies of 180 GHz and 233 GHz, with relative bandwidths of 12.2% and 13.7%, and attains maximum gains of 9.4 dB and 6.8 dB at the corresponding operating frequencies.
