摘要
This paper illustrates the positive relationship among the traffic generation, metropolis area and road network density structurally and systemically. The capacity of land use constrains the road network density so that the limit of metropolis area exists to be concerned with the traffic congestion. If the metropolis area is greater than the threshold of it, the heavy congestion of traffic is hardly relaxed. An optimal model is proposed to reflect the coordination between the development of metropolis area and traffic. A practical example about Beijing traffic is used to illustrate the principle.
