N2 - Three-dimensional (3D) microwave imaging can obtain 3D complex scattering information of observed targets, which has broad application prospects in 3D mapping: security detection, biomedical imaging, nondestructive detection, radar target diagnostics, and so on. In this paper. fully polanmetric (FP) data acquisition mode is into-' duced into the 3D microwave imaging radar. Firstly, the scattering mechanisms, polanmetnc target decomposition and synthesis are introduced, and the target characteristics in different polarization channels are analyzed. Secondly, 3D FP data acquisition geometry is established, and data processing flow is proposed. Finally, experiment is implemented and the polarization characteristics of the measured object are analyzed. In this paper, the FP 3D acquisition modes can obtain more abundant target information, and enhance 3D target feature, which has important significance for target detection.
