摘要
The full-field strain concentrations of a titanium (Ti) alloy were quantitatively and visually investigated for prediction of crack occurrence in a tensile test. The microscale distributions of normal strains, shear strains, and maximum and minimum principal strains of the Ti alloy were measured using a newly-developed sampling moiré method. The strain concentration appeared at a prior ß grain boundary and evolved along with the tensile load, indicating the crack initiation location verified from experiments. The developed experimental technique is suitable for failure prediction of various materials.
