摘要
The image real-time compression system based on multiple-mode adaptive compression algorithm was developed. The system comprises several processors working in parallel mode, and each processor adopts pipeline working pattern, so the capability and the data processing speed of the system are adjustable. The ASIC of the processor was designed and manufactured by using VHDL and FPGA. The data processing speed of the single processor can reach 100 Mbit/s. The compression rate can be adjusted dynamically and the PSNR of restored image varies from 35 dB to 45 dB. The system is characterized with low power consumption, small size and low weight.
