N2 - This paper considers a new nons in gular 'terminal' sliding mode control design for a double integrator. Phase portrait analysis for the closed-loop system is presented while estimating the convergence time to the origin. In addition, by the nature of the weighted homogeneity of the vector field, a strict Lyapunov function is also constructed for this finite-time control design based on a weak one. The simulation results validate the theoretical results.
