N2 - To address the challenges of coordinating multicomponent maintenance in complex systems, this paper proposes a rule-based reasoning approach for generating opportunistic maintenance strategies. The method integrates a fact feature set, a structured IF-THEN rule base, and inference mechanisms for single and multiple events. Opportunistic maintenance is embedded into the reasoning process through predefined rules that identify maintenance opportunities based on state proximity, resource availability, and task window alignment. The approach enhances interpretability and adaptability, offering an efficient path toward intelligent maintenance decision-making.
