Research and design of the CCD-based microarray scanner

The optical system of the CCD-based microarray scanner has been analyzed. A novel CCD-based microarray scanner with multi-resolution has been developed. Microarray samples of Cy3 NHS ester spots on glass substrates and solutions in microwell with varying concentration are used to evaluate the performance of the scanner. Results of fluorescence intensity with varying dye concentration and with different exposure time are presented. Preliminary experiments have shown that the optical system of the scanner is optimal and the scanner has the key performance for microarray detection.
