Remaining useful life prediction model based on contaminant sensitivity for aviation hydraulic piston pump

摘要

In order to realize condition-based maintenance of aircraft and therefore ensure flight safety, it is significant to timely and accurately determine of remaining useful life (RUL) of the aviation hydraulic piston pump. Failure resulting from hydraulic oil contamination is the main failure mode of piston pump, thus a life prediction model based on contaminant sensitivity is established for the aviation hydraulic piston pump in this study. The mathematically explicit relationship between oil contamination and useful life of the piston pump is deduced by utilizing the contaminant sensitivity theory of hydraulic system. The experimental method for measuring contaminant sensitivity of the aviation hydraulic piston pump is proposed based on the contaminant sensitivity model. Useful life of the piston pump under certain contaminant conditions is then predicted utilizing a group of experimental data, verifying the effectiveness of the proposed contaminant-based life prediction model.
