Remaining Useful Life Assessment of Organic Coating Based on Three-stage Degradation Mechanism

摘要

The degradation of coating properties directly affects the potential for corrosion on ships. Numerous studies have focused on stochastic degradation modeling and the mechanisms of coating degradation. However, there is a lack of methods that integrate both aspects into a unified degradation modeling framework. Through an analysis of the degradation mechanism, we have divided coating degradation into three stages: the smooth, fast, and slow degradation periods. Based on the three-stage degradation characteristics, we propose a three-stage Wiener process remaining useful life prediction model. The experimental results show that the proposed model can effectively explain the coating degradation process, and exhibit favorable prediction results.
