Reliability modeling and optimization of the spray process for seal coatings on the aero-engine compressor casing

摘要

The abradable seal coating has been widely used in aero-engine, as well as plays a significant role in improving engine efficiency and reducing fuel consumption. It is no doubt that the overall performance of aero-engine will be accordingly strengthened by achieving desired sealing coatings, which depends on the high reliability of spray process to a great extent. This research focuses on modeling and optimizing the process reliability of the seal coating produced by the atmosphere plasma and flame spraying on the aero-engine compressor casing, so as to improve the coatings quality. Firstly, the reliability block diagram of spraying system is established on account of each procedure system involved in the spray process as a basic unit. Then, the relationship model is determined between the coating quality characteristics and process system based on the established reliability block diagram and the influence of each procedure on the coating quality, as shown in Figure 1.
