N2 - Many faults in electromechanical components result in energy dissipation exceeding the set threshold during energy transmission and conversion processes. This paper presents a reliability evaluation method of electromechanical components based on fault energy dissipation, in which the energy port includes input energy, output energy, dissipated energy caused by mechanical efficiency, and fault dissipated energy. The fault energy dissipation characteristics of typical faults such as wear, fatigue, and leakage are described. As a demonstration, the proposed method is applied to model and evaluate the failure behavior of the swash plate axial piston pump, which indicates that the proposed method is effective and provides a promising reliability evaluation method for electromechanical components.
