Reliability Analysis and Health Management of the Radar Range Based on Belief Reliability Theory

摘要

As one of the core equipment in modern joint operations, the demand for the radar reliability and health management is getting higher recently. Current studies of the radar reliability analysis and health management usually depend on probability theory and cannot be related to the radar design directly. These studies only consider an individual range evaluation rather than all evaluations under the same condition and ignore epistemic uncertainties. Aiming at these problems, we firstly propose a belief reliability modeling methodology of the radar range based on belief reliability theory and uncertainty theory, which directly builds up the relationship between the radar range and the reliability evaluation and quantifies epistemic uncertainties properly. This study can also provide support for the radar health management. A simulation case is used to illustrate the proposed methodology. Results show that the proposed methodology is suitable for the uncertainty quantification of the radar range and can help decision makers to make appropriate maintenance decisions.
