N2 - In this work, the classical far field version of the Intersection Approach (IA) algorithm is updated to fast synthesize a plane wave field using the Plane Wave Spectrum (PWS) theory. A Fourier transform pair relates the near field between the spatial and the angular spectrum domain. In the angular spectrum domain, an analytical near field system transform function is utilized to calculate the projections between aperture and near field. Fast Fourier transform (FFT) and Inverse Fast Fourier transform (IFFT) algorithms can be embedded into the intersection approach to fast synthesize the near field, such as for the quasi plane wave of Quiet Zone, the focused spots and even the arbitrary wave fronts. The synthesized aperture source is also general, including the case of the only phase, the only amplitude and the complex aperture. As an example, a quasi-plane wave is generated by an only phased aperture to demonstrate the fast method finally.
