N2 - A novel planar tentacle-shaped ultra-wideband (UWB) band-notched antenna with reduced radar cross section (RCS) is designed. Inspired by bionics principle and based on the shaping geometry, the reference antenna is modified to get the RCS reduction. The full-wave electromagnetic simulation is used to acquire the frequency characteristics including the RCS and radiation features such as return losses, peak gains and radiation patterns. The results show that, within the range of 3.1-18.0 GHz, the RCS of the modified antenna is below -18 dBsm, which is comparatively lower than the reference antenna and the radiation features of the modified antenna remain the same.
