摘要
The hierarchically structured materials usually show improved physical and chemical properties. Here, using simple hydrothermal method and reagents of polyethylene glycol (PEG-20000), we synthesize the ZnO crystals and find that they exhibit hierarchical flower-like architectures assembled by nanorods. Further comparative studies demonstrate that PEG provides nucleation sites for the assembling of the nanorods, which play a critical role in producing such unique flower-like architectures. Consequently, the sensor made of ZnO nanoflowers is found to show good gas sensing performance to the hydrothion gas.
