Numerical Study of a Physical Model for Tip Leakage Flow in Compressors

摘要

A simplified physical flow model is proposed to simulate the tip leakage flow in compressors. DNS is used to study the flow model with Re=10,000. The main flow/jet flow interaction and turbulence mechanism are investigated in the flow model. The results show that the flow in the model has strong unsteadiness and large-scale vortical structures, which has significant influence on the turbulence structure in the tip leakage vortex. Study on the model flow could deepen the understandings of the tip leakage flow mechanism, which is helpful to develop better turbulence models.
