Numerical simulation of 3-D unsteady turbulent flow in SRM chamber with finocyl grain

摘要

The 3-D unsteady turbulent flow was simulated in the chamber of solid propellant rocket motor with finocyl type grain. It was based on numerical solution of the 3-D time-dependent ensemble-averaged Navier-Stokes equations of incompressible fluid and a high Reynolds number k-ε turbulence model. The SIMPLE calculation procedure and TDMA were used to solve the discrete equations. The k-ε turbulence model was modified with wall function in the vicinity of the shell and burning surface. Some special treatments was applied to the initial flow field. The computed results show that in radial profiles of chamber, vortex motion acts in the space and time-dependent distribution, and the mass addition from circumferential burning surface causes an nonuniform axial velocity distribution in the combustion gas field.
