N2 - Training program is important for the rehabilitation of hand function, but its design is still based on the experience of the therapists. This paper presents a quantitative method based on quantity of the movement (QOM) to assess the effect of training tasks on certain joints, which can be a basis on establishing proper training programs for the concerned joints and fingers. Twelve subjects participated in 11 training tasks, and the movements of 14 joints of hand were recorded with data glove in each task, then QOM of each joint was calculated. The results demonstrated the feasibility of quantifying the training tasks with QOM. The joints that showed high QOM in a certain task were considered to be effectively trained by this task. Based on this, we can choose some specific tasks for training certain pathological joints and fingers.
