MLFMA Accelerated Characteristic Mode Analysis of Lossy Inhomogeneous Material

摘要

The multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) is adopted to accelerate the characteristic mode analysis of lossy inhomogeneous material. The method of moment is combined with a mixed basis function scheme to obtain the discretized eigenvalue equation. The impedance matrix achieved by the proposed discretizing scheme is numerically symmetric and hence ensures an orthogonal mode solution. Analysis of a composite dielectric resonator antenna is presented for validation. The computational consumption is greatly reduced because of the employment of MLFMA.
