abstract = "This paper proposes an ISAR image target location algorithm with known target planar projection based on template matching. The first part of this paper analyzes the necessity of ISAR image contour extraction. The second part explains the feasibility of template matching algorithm in the ISAR image contour extraction, introduces the principle and implementation process of the contour extraction algorithm in detail. The third part takes a missile model as an example to present the effect of the ISAR contour extraction, analyzes the influence of ISAR image processing on contour extraction error, and conducts an error analysis. This algorithm can extract the size, location and rotation angle of the target in the ISAR image, which is helpful to locate and identify the target accurately, and to analyze the scattering characteristics of it.",
