N2 - Current web application modeling approaches lack certain key aspects. Firstly, these approaches do not incorporate value-based requirement engineering as an integral part. Secondly, these approaches typically provide modeling of information aspects at the system design level; however, there is a need to model information at the level of understanding business needs while carrying out analysis. Thirdly, today's 'information-rich ' and 'functionally-complex' web applications necessitate merging both of these aspects; hence as one of the available options, the business information models may be merged to business process models. In this paper, we propose a framework-VIP Business Modeling Framework, incorporating all the above mentioned aspects, during analysis phase, using three different models. First, we emphasize the need for the proposed framework, and then present the related modeling concepts with the help of metamodels. Moreover, we very briefly outline the idea of developing these models with the help of an example.
