N2 - Due to the complexity of the real electric system's structure, geometrical simplification is necessary for electromagnetic modeling. Usually, the outline of the electric system is retained while the details are ignored. The influence of geometrical simplification in the modeling of aperture cavities is studied in this paper. Cavity thickness, chamfer angle, aperture size, aperture shape and position are considered, and some regularities are given. The dimension of the aperture perpendicular to the incident wave's polarization direction obviously influences shielding efficiency. This work could provide a reference for simplifying complex aperture cavities in the analysis of electromagnetic shielding effectiveness.
