摘要
This paper aims to provide new insight into the mechanisms of transition boiling through dry patches interactions. The Rayleigh-Taylor stability criterion at liquid-vapor interface of local dry patches is derived with incorporation of the effect of heat and mass transfer. The results show that heat and mass transfer at the interface can enhance the stability and increase the value of most dangerous wavelength. The generation of dry patches in transition boiling system may create big temperature gradient in the vapor film and significantly affect the transition-boiling behavior. Dual characters of transition between nucleate boiling and film boiling, namely hydrodynamic and non-hydrodynamic performance could then be explained in a unified fashion by incorporating dry patches interactions.
