Highlight area recognition and image segmentation

Image segmentation is important and difficult for image recognition, and the existence of the highlight area in an image and the limitation of the inherent characters of the CCD camera make the color image segmentation even more difficult. We present here a method for color image segmentation based on the dichromatic reflection model on the formation of the highlight and on the analysis of the influence of the characters of the CCD camera to the formatted color image. The presented method gives a good result to the highlight area recognition and color image segmentation based on color information.
