摘要

This paper investigates the harmonic field analysis and performance comparison of flux switching machines (FSMs). This study focuses on U-core and C-core FSM topologies, analyzing the harmonic generation mechanisms and distributions of their air-gap magnetic fields. The contributions of the working harmonic to the back electromotive force and output torque are investigated. The accuracy of the numerical models is validated by finite element (FE) analysis. The results show that the U-core and C-core FSMs have different harmonic characteristics that affect their back-EMF and output torque performance. A comprehensive performance comparison is conducted between the two FSM configurations. The results provide valuable insights for the design and optimization of FSMs.
