Halbach array permanent magnet machine and its performance comparison with the normal array one (II) - Comparison of different magnet array ironless machine and prototype experiment

This paper compares the magnetic flux, air-gap field distribution of permanent magnet machines having HALBACH magnet array and normal ones when they employ ironless stator or ironless rotor. The different effect of the magnet radial dimension on the air-gap magnet field for HALBACH array permanent magnet machines and the normal array ones is analyzed. Results deduced from finite-element analyses are verified by the prototype experiment.
