摘要
Steel plate-timber bolt connections are frequently used in timber structures.However, these connections may encounter durability problem due to the corrosion of the steel plates.In this work, GFRP plate is proposed to replace steel plate in timber structures, and the group effect of the proposed GFRP-timber bolt connections is studied for improvements on the durability.Tensile tests of GFRP-timber bolt connections were conducted for the influences of bolt diameter, bolt spacing, number of bolts, bolt rows on the group effect.The failure modes and the load-displacement curves of the connections were reported.Experimental results showed that the tensile capacity of the GFRP-timber bolt connection is proportionally correlated to the bolt diameter and number of bolts, but it is unrelated to the bolt spacing.A design formula for predicting the tensile capacity of the connection, which considers the group effect of the GFRP-timber bolt connection, is finally proposed based on the test results.
