N2 - The fuselage shape optimization model is proposed based on a multi-agent system (MAS) and applied to multidiscipline design optimization (MDO) for the aircraft conceptual design. The model has advantages of autonomy and cooperativity from the MAS. The modeling method incorporates the fuselage segment into the section. Different types of agents and their functions are defined, and different rules and modes of negotiate are selected for each agent type. Aimed at the model, a MDO example of a fighter aircraft concept is validated, and the negotiate process of each agent in the fuselage shape is given. The optimization results show that in the optimizing process, the model can effectively decrease variable fuselage number and shorten the computational time. Moreover, because autonomous negotiation between agents can avoid distorting of complex shape during optimization, the number of feasible solutions is increased.
