Flow rate measurement of bulk solids in pneumatic pipelines problems and solutions

Reliable methods of metering the flow rate of bulk solids in pneumatic pipelines have long been desirable in many industries, but the development of a suitable instrumentation system has proven to be a challenging problem worldwide. This paper addresses the major technical problems encountered in the design and application of solids flow metering systems and discusses general methodologies and strategies of solving these problems. Also included are definitions and relationships of technical terms used in the flow rate measurement of bulk solids in pneumatic conveying systems.
