abstract = "Tandem cascade is quite a useful way to reduce losses in design of stator with a large turning angle. The dominant flow mechanism for reducing loss is to control the wake development induced by the front row in tandem cascade. However, the wake effect is not dominant but the potential influence of the back rotor is far more important. This paper establishes the principles for arranging the circumferential location of the back rotor in tandem rotors to achieve a high efficiency in a high loading design.",
