title = "Field test study on pot-cover effect of filled soils",
abstract = "Pot-cover Effect in this paper refers to the phenomenon where water accumulates underneath the pavement. This paper introduces the field test of the Pot-cover Effect in Beijing new airport. Two contrasting conditions, with or without an impervious layer, are tested. If no impervious layer is placed in the ground, the volumetric water content of the soil in the depth of 0\textasciitilde{}45cm increases obviously, so that the existence of the Pot-cover Effect is verified. Besides, it is found that the impervious layer can effectively suppress the Pot-cover Effect.",
