Experimentally research on temperature stability of the mean wavelength of erbium-doped fiber super fluorescent source

摘要

The relationship between the temperature stability and the source configuration and pump power is investigated. With different configurations and pump power, the mean wavelength temperature stability of different sources are distinguishing, and the reasons of the difference are discussed. By altering the erbium-doped fiber length and pump power, the spectrum and the absorption-emission property of the source is improved. And consequently, the temperature stability of the mean wavelength is ameliorated also. With proper erbium-doped fiber length and pump power, the double passed backward erbium-doped super fluorescent source can output stable spectrum whose mean wavelength temperature stability is better than 1 ppm/°C. It is ten times higher than the measured stability of actual light source. At the same time, the output power of this kind of source is more stable and higher.
