abstract = "We propose an approach which can enhance the functionalization density of 1-pyrenebutanoic acid succinimidyl ester (PASE) as well as its linked aptamer by applying negative electric field during PASE functionalization. Due to the electrostatic repulsion, polar molecule PASE is arranged regularly with directivity with the electron-rich pyrenyl group forced towards graphene, thus possibly making further quantities of PASE interact with graphene. Experimental results indicate that the detection limit (DL) of aptameric GFETs for detecting interleukon-6 (IL-6) decreased from 1.47 to 0.83 pM after applying a voltage of -0.3V for 3h during PASE functionalization.",
