Effect of media permittivity on imaging quality of electrical capacitance tomography

摘要

In the application of electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) for multi-phase flow measurement, the media in the sensor has an obvious effect on the visualization results. One key factor is the difference in relative permittivity of the media within the sensing domain. This paper concerns the influence of the media dielectric constant on the imaging quality of ECT. Three flow patterns are simulated based on 8-electrode ECT sensors with the pipe thickness of 2 mm and 7 mm. The relative image error and the correlation coefficient are applied for the evaluation of the images reconstructed by the LBP algorithm. The inter-electrodes capacitances of different permittivity are analyzed.
