摘要

Far-field wake vortex can increase the risk in take-off and landing of a fighter aircraft especially on the deck of an aircraft carrier. The development and decay of a far-field wake vortex in static and mutational ground effect is studied using the detached eddy simulation (DES). Without loss of generality, in this study the vortex is modeled as an Oseen vortex. In the quiescent air, the Oseen vortex moves closer to the ground or moves over the platform. The vortex decay in unbounded flow field is slower due to viscous effects. It is shown by numerical simulation that the vortex decay in static ground effect is very quick due to both the secondary vortex generation and the interaction between the primary vortex and the secondary vortex.
