摘要
A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna fed by planar coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented in this paper. On the basis of split-ring resonators (SRRs) structure, three SRRs with a dimension varying proportionally to the arithmetic progression sequence is designed as the radiation surface. A tapered transmission line is adopted to improve the return loss performance in the required band. By numerical simulation, a new UWB antenna is optimized, fabricated and measured. The measured results show that the proposed UWB antenna has a wide bandwidth from 2.0 GHz to 18 GHz, and all the measured return losses are less than -10 dB in the whole band with excellent radiation characteristics and relative high gain.
