abstract = "A novel planar distributed three-beam electron gun is developed to provide the beam array with narrow separations, which will be used in the W-band high power Staggered double vane TWT. The initial theoretical design is just the same as the sheet beam gun, which has developed by our group [1]. Then the focusing electrode can be designed more carefully to form the narrow separation three-beam effectively. The 3D software simulation CST is used to construct the planar three-beam gun to verify the theoretical design. With the beam voltage of 22kV, beam current of 3X0.153A, the planar electron gun can achieve the narrow separation beam formation with the radius of three beam about 0.08mm and bema compression factor of 5, which is corresponding the distance from cathode to beam waist of 4.4mm.",
