abstract = "In order to improve the adaptability of the manipulator to the target, a new electromagnetic drive rod cluster adaptive manipulator is designed. The manipulator is that its adaptive working mode is to change the overall shape adaptation to multi-point adaptive, and to realize the overall shape fitting with the displacement change of the multi-point cluster. If the manipulator grabs objects of different shapes, the end face of such manipulator can automatically change three-dimensionally to accommodate various surface shapes of the target. A control method suitable for this type of manipulator was proposed in this paper. The adaptive electromagnetic manipulator was mounted on the manipulator arm for a simple experiment. The results show that the manipulator has high self-adaptive ability and can stably catch target of ferromagnetic material with various sizes and shapes or other material with small size.",
