N2 - To optimize the design parameters of passive damper in vibration suppression, and to improved the cutting efficiency, by performing the numerical simulation, the result showed that two-Degree-Of-Freedom (DOF) damper was the best vibration suppression performance among Single DOF (SDOF) damper, two-DOF damper, two SDOF dampers and three SDOF dampers with equal mass. A structure scheme of two-DOF damper was proposed and its dynamics were formulated, which was verified by finite element method. A flexible fixture assembly was designed and the machining tests were carried out. The vibration amplitude of workpiece was reduced up to 56.4% after employing the damper.
