N2 - The application characteristics of electro-optical navigation systems for laminectomy were studied, and the surgeons' cognitive model and behavior model were established based on the analysis of surgeons' working procedure and methods. And then, the contents of human-computer interaction in laminectomy were defined and a method for design of human-computer interaction for laminectomy navigation was proposed based on the considerations of procedures and difficulties of laminectomy, and the safety and availability. In view of the characteristics of electro-optical navigation, the contents of human-computer interaction for laminectomy navigation were designed, such as operating room layout, software interface layout, visualization of 3D images and its registration, planning of surgery and operation of navigation. The navigation functions of the method, and safety, effectiveness, convenience of human-computer interaction, were proved by the clinical experiment.
