Co3O4 negative electrode for lithium-ion batteries prepared by electrochemical deposition-sintering processes and its capacitance performance

摘要

The Co3O4 negative-electrode for lithium-ion batteries was prepared by electrochemical deposition and sintering processes. XRD analysis illustrates that the essential phase of the electrochemical deposited product is Co(OH)2, which transforms to Co3O4 after sintering at 300°C. From SEM observation, it is found that Co3O4 is the image of a leaves morphology with sizes of 20 - 30 nm in thickness. Co3O4/Li batteries were made by Co3O4, which was sintered at 300°C for 30, 45 and 60 min, respectively. During the first charge-discharge cycle, it is found that the specific capacities of Li ions insertion are 1361.7, 1457.6 and 1345.0 mAh/g and the specific capacities of Li ions extraction are 757.7 mAh/g, 905.0 mAh/g and 794.8 mAh/g, respectively. The specific capacities of discharge increase to 815.5 mAh/g, 969.0 mAh/g and 890.1 mAh/g after 10 cycles, respectively.
