摘要
As former chapters have demonstrated, electrospinning appears to be a facile method to fabricate diverse hierarchically micro/nanostructured fibers. There has been much research on the control of coaxial immiscible jets by adjusting the needle structure. Coaxial electrospinning has been done with polymers tailored with additive agents ranging from simple oils or particles to immiscible solutions. In this chapter, we introduce the fabrication of multistructured fibers, such as hollow fibers, side-by-side fibers, multicore-shell fibers, multichannel fibers, and ultraporous fibers, by coelectrospinning. Coaxial electrospinning has also sparked interest in applications in biomaterials, drug delivery, highly efficient absorption and catalysis, energy materials, sensors, and many other areas. This method allows one to prepare materials with new kinds of structures. Last, we give a brief perspective on the future development of coelectrospinning.
