N2 - This paper introduced ten key technology problems and relevant challenges that the power system will face in the future, which are proposed in the 2016 international conference on power grid (CIGRE). Combining with the specific issues of the power distribution system and distributed generation technology committee (SC6), the latest development of distribution system and distributed generation were analyzed from the aspects of integrated planning and operation of distribution network upgrade, energy infrastructure of urban power grid, and micro-net and off-grid hybrid power system. Lastly, prospects and suggestions for the development of distribution system and distributed generation in China have been proposed.
