N2 - Similar product information is valuable for reliability evaluation. How to define and measure similarity is the key to making good use of similar product information. In this paper, a new similarity measurement in terms of margin is newly developed based on the belief reliability theory and similarity system theory. Subsequently, a belief reliability fusion evaluation method is proposed to assess the reliability of the new products in combination with the failure data from the similar old products. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the above methods, a case study of the seed source generation circuit is employed, which shows the proposed methods can reasonably evaluate the reliability based on the fusion data and effectively reduce the uncertainty of the evaluation results.
