摘要
A particle damper is known by the properties of the unchanging the shape of the structure and its negligible addition mass, and it is also known by its good damping effect in harsh environments when other passive damping failed. The design methods of traditional particle damper mainly rely on the experiment. The application of particle damping will be studied in vibration and noise reduction of brake drum. A coupling simulation algorithm based on the discrete element method and finite element method is used to calculate and design the particle damper in the brake drum. This method makes it possible to investigate the properties of the particle damper in a rotating structure. The research results show that the presented particle damping is effective, and reasonable correlation is demonstrated between simulation and test.
